Archive

Research is our main activity, and we have done so much of it!

Our staff and interns over the years have gathered information on our former geographical focus of central and eastern Africa (we have gone a bit more global now). This information is too precious to just be sitting on a dusty shelf hidden away, and may very well come in useful for many people. Therefore we created this archive, where you can browse all the fascinating information we collected over the years. Bear in mind this is now an archive, so these pages are not being up dated. It’s a good place to start, but for up-to-date information you will need to carry on the research yourself! Happy learning!

A map showing central and eastern Africa

Wherever we are in the world, our lives are inextricably linked to central and eastern Africa – for better or worse. Find out how the histories of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Sudan and South Sudan are intertwined and how each country has helped shape the other to what it is today.

Scroll through the interactive timeline below for a side-by-side overview of the region or explore the individual countries listed on the right.
